Did you love The Sonic movie? Then you will love the second Sonic movie. Sonic 2 is a sequel to the 2020 film Sonic The Hedgehog, This sega movie was the number one superhero movie of the year so we needed a second movie. In the first movie, there was only Sonic but I think the addition of Knuckles and Tails really helped the movie.

(Sonic 1 spoilers) Sonic is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog from a distant planet with the unusual ability to run at supersonic speed. His guardian, Longclaw the Owl gave Sonic teleportation rings and sent him to earth because a tribe on the island was after sonic. Sonic gets to earth and finds friends with a guy in a small town and they go on a road trip to save the world from Dr. Robonick and his plans to take over the earth. Sonic defeats him and sends him to a mushroom island.

To me, Sonic 2 was MUCH less corny than Sonic 1, and I enjoyed it much more. I loved the island Viewer of the movie says “I loved the moral of working as a team and even though I didn’t see the first Sonic movie, I caught on to the story after a little bit.”
Will we get a sonic 3? With huge success with the last two movies, it makes sense that they would continue the series, and we got a hint of it at the end of the movie. Just like how Tails was shown at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 1, (spoiler alert,) a new anthropomorphic hedgehog was shown in a capsule at the end of the movie. This one looks similar to sonic but red and black, and his name is Shadow. We might even get to see Amy Rose, a pink hedgehog and a main character in the Sonic franchise. But this is not confirmed.

Justin Kroll, a Hollywood journalist says, “In February 2022, Paramount and Sega announced that they were working on a Sonic cinematic universe, with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and a Knuckles streaming television series for Paramount+ in development. Elba is set to reprise his voice role in the series”

Should you see Sonic The Hedgehog 2? Yes, I think so. With a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, Sonic 2 has the same charm as the original. It is a family movie with really well-done animation and you can definitely see if you are into sonic or videogames. If you aren’t into movies you can play the many sonic games or the sonic tv shows. So go to you’re local Cinemark, watch Sonic The Hedgehog 2, and bring your own snacks so you don’t go broke!
