Valentine’s Day

February 23, 2022
Valentines day might be the day you look forward to most in February but if you don’t usually have a valentine this might not be the case. Even if you don’t have a valentine you can still enjoy Valentine’s Day, giving and receiving gifts from your friends can be just as fun!
“No, I am not celebrating Valentine’s Day because I don’t have anyone to celebrate it with,” said Aria Gardner, an 8th grader here at RBMS. Now, although she does not have a valentine Aria is getting gifts for her friends, one of which is Haley. Aria also does not have any traditions with her family for Valentine’s day.
“I am getting my friends 1$ box of chocolate,” said Macy Cepeda, an 8th grader at RBMS. Macy does not have any traditions with her family either and isn’t celebrating Valentine’s Day.
Although they are not really celebrating Valentine’s Day I’m sure it will be fun to give/receive candy from their friends. Also, if you don’t have a valentine tradition like them it might be fun to come up with one this year. My parents always buy me chocolate covered strawberries as a tradition but it can be anything from paper hearts to flowers.
If you don’t have a valentine this year don’t be sad, celebrate by yourself! You can always choose to treat yourself on Valentine’s Day with self love instead of waiting on someone else. Have a fun Valentine’s Day and buy that one thing you have been waiting on!
