No Place For Hate Club

Riley Freeburg, Editor

No Place for Hate is a movement across schools where we try to stop the spread of bullying or discrimination of any kind. Of course these things are inevitable but the movement does at least decrease it.
This movement is actually schoolwide so the campus is required to sign the resolution of respect and the sponsor is required to make an application to the Anti-Defamation League. The application consists of what activities they want to do, as well as applying to be a No Place for Hate school. Once we apply to be a No Place for Hate school we get a poster that is hung in our cafeteria, we have been a No Place for Hate school for 15 years running now.
“Physically the club is designed to have 3 activities that promote inclusion and anti-bullying.” Ms. Mcallister said. Ms. Mcallister runs the club and the activities she mentioned are supposed to come from the students but you see, the No Place for Hate club has no members so they can’t really be chosen by the students.
“The last two years have been hard and because of virtual we only got 1 activity last year.” Ms. Mcallister said. I’m sure the virtual aspect of last year definitely took a toll on all of the clubs, especially the amount of members. It’s hard to represent a club with no one in person to attend. The No Place for Hate club wants to revive its members though and hopes more of you would check it out.
This club meets every Monday after school from 3:30-4:00 pm in C315. They are very welcoming and hope to see new students coming in soon so take thirty minutes out of your day to help with the movement even if it’s just a little bit.
