A Mini Movement

As you might’ve heard, RBMS is booming with all kinds of new clubs this year! From baking to soccer we just have it all, but the one I am going to be talking about is especially new. It is called, ‘Stewards of the Little Free Libraries’ and it just got announced a week or two ago.
Stewards of the Little Free Libraries is a club where they try to get people to read more by doing a book trade where you take one book out and replace it with another one, never just take them. This is a global cause and is great for people who don’t have a library card, can’t afford to buy books, and many other reasons.
“Right now we are rebuilding a library in the back of the school that got hit with a baseball bat and one in the front that is worn from the weather,” Audrey Zessin, a sixth grader here said. It is unfortunate that these libraries were beaten up but, very fortunate that this club is helping get them back into shape. It is sad that people would harm a good cause and something that is solely there to help people.
The club just started so it isn’t very popular quite yet, “There are 3 members at the moment and we would love more! Also there is no such thing as full when it comes to Little Free Libraries.” said Mrs. Deckinga. It is so great that they don’t have a full so that everyone can help out with the good cause! If you are interested in helping out for the good of other students and reading you should really consider joining this club. They meet every Monday after school in A105 so make sure you check it out!
