Spooky Festivities

October 22, 2021
It’s October 22nd! Only nine days from Halloween and you know what that means…time to get festive! You never really know what fun ideas people will come up with for costumes and decorations for that year so I wanted to ask a few students here what they are doing for the occasion.
“I’m dressing up as an oompa loompa with my friends, Aria and Sophia.” said Mckenzie Hall, an 8th grader here at RBMS. Group costumes are very popular in recent years but it’s hard to come up with original ones and an oompa loompa will most definitely defy that. “My house is decorated and I am going to be making spooky treats.” Mckenzie said. I look forward to hearing about all the treats she makes and if they are tasty or not!
“I’m not dressing up, nor am I trick-or-treating this year.” said Hennah Moeller, another 8th grader at RBMS. A surprising amount of people I’ve met are not going trick-or-treating this year, including Hennah. “Yes, my house is decorated and we will buy spooky treats instead of making them.” Hennah said. Most people buy spooky treats instead of making them, but if you have the time you should always at least try to make some as they can be a fun family or friend festivity.
Now, these people obviously have very different ideas of celebrating but both could be fun depending on your interests. I personally like to go trick-or-treating but not everyone does, like Hennah for example.
Well anyway, whatever you end up doing for Halloween just make sure to spend your holiday well since it’s on a Sunday and you won’t have too much time to enjoy it with having school the next day!
